Who is SMART Efficient Solutions?
SMART Efficient Solutions made a name for itself as one of the leading companies to offer Property Assessed Clean Energy financing assistance — better known as PACE — for the state of Florida. But something happened in September 2017 that changed everything. And that something was called Hurricane Irma. The Category 5 hurricane devastated many parts of Florida. And we’ll get to that, but the purpose of this post is to provide some clarity on who we are and what we do.
So let’s get started:
“How long have you been in business?”
SMART Efficient Solutions was founded in 2015 by company owner Robert F. MacKinnon. Robert, or “Bobby” as he is better known to friends, family, colleagues and staff, made a successful career out of being a lawyer. His law firm, MacKinnon Law Group, helped Florida homeowners settle their damage insurance claims, primarily from sinkhole cases. In 2015, Bobby heard about the Florida PACE program. He saw an opportunity to start a new company that would help Florida homeowners get financing for clean energy living through this groundbreaking initiative. And so SMART Efficient Solutions was born!
“Why is your address the same as the one listed for a company called Super Heat and Air?”
Super Heat and Air was founded around the same time as SMART Efficient Solutions. And both companies operated under the same umbrella for a while. Now we operate separately. But we’re all still friends, we occasionally do business together and we still love sharing the same building.
“So what’s with all the Hurricane Irma and damage claim insurance assistance stuff?”
When the Category 5 Hurricane Irma struck, the damage to the state of Florida was worse than expected. So Bobby decided to use his experience as a damage claim insurance lawyer to help Florida homeowners recover from the catastrophe. He knew FEMA and insurance companies were going to be backed up with more claims than they could handle. And he saw a need to use his experience with damage claim insurance to help those affected. So SMART Efficient Solutions hired a team of contractors, public adjusters and damage insurance specialists to offer hurricane recovery assistance to victims of the hurricane. These services include roof reconstruction; hurricane damage claim and settlement assistance; hurricane deductible assistance; and general hurricane property damage assistance.
“Are you still offering PACE program financing assistance to Florida homeowners?”
Yes we are. But because of all of the work that Hurricane Irma brought upon us, we’re still very busy and backed up with the hurricane damage insurance claim assistance. So when it comes to the Florida PACE program, we have several partner businesses that are handling the PACE side of things for us until our work with Hurricane Irma victims is done. We built our identity and success around PACE. And so we haven’t changed the name of our website pace4florida.com, nor our phone number of 1-844-WHY-PACE (1-844-949-7223) because we’re still involved with it. So if you need assistance with or information about Florida PACE program, call us or fill out our contact form and we’ll refer you to our trusted partners for assistance.
“What kind of roofing services do you offer?
We offer a variety of roofing services that include commercial and residential roofing, with a focus on shingle roofs. And we also provide tarping for Florida homeowners with damaged roofs. For more about our roofing services, click here or call us.
“Why do you have two phone numbers?”
We want to make sure you can reach us one way or another. To contact our offices directly, call us at 1-844-949-7223 or 1-855-406-9900.
“Which counties are you currently serving?”
We serve the entire state of Florida. For roofing and hurricane damage claim assistance, we’re currently focusing on the Florida counties most affected by Hurricane Irma. They are: Brevard County, Collier County, Duval County, Highlands County, Lee County and Polk County.
For Florida PACE program financing assistance, our partners are currently focusing on Broward County, Hillsborough County and Pasco County until further notice. And if you need a list of which counties are currently participating in the Florida PACE program, click here. If you’re outside of one of the counties listed above, contact us anyway and we will assist you if we can.
